Forest Schools is designed to provide opportunities for outdoor learning in a natural environment.  As a school, we have developed our own Forest School area and are delighted to be able to offer a full programme of Forest Schools to all children at Hazelwood throughout the school year, delivered by a fully trained Forest School teacher.

Children learn to participate in a range of activities linked to the relevant age-appropriate curriculum, including:

  • Den building and fire lighting
  • Tool use
  • Flora/fauna identification and foraging
  • Storytelling and imaginative outdoor play
  • Climbing trees and team building games
